Poilievre Honours Community Champion

Ottawa, ON – On February 28,Pierre Poilievre, Member of Parliament for Nepean-Carleton, presented Mr. David Rattray with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal at his Parliament Hill office.

 

Mr. Rattray began volunteering for community organizations in 1989, when he was the section leader for the Nepean Division of Scouts Canada. Since that time, he has gone on to contribute hundreds of hours to help organizations like the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation, the Ottawa Heart Support Group and the Community Foundation of Ottawa.

 

“David is a community champion,” said Poilievre, “I am proud and honoured to present this medal to thank him for all of his great work for our community.”

 

Currently, Mr. Rattray is involved as a Founding Director of the Christmas Cheer Foundation, a Director of the Sens Foundation and a member of the Rotary Club of South Nepean, where he served as President in 2005. Mr. Rattray is also a member and contributor to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, presently working with the board to build a facility that will house this important local support organization.
