Poilievre Says Bridge Construction Must Go On

Statement:
“Like everyone else in the community, I am disappointed that the contractor for the future Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge has gone into receivership.
“However, I am determined to see the project completed in a timely manner. The Harper government will continue to work in cooperation with our partners in the City of Ottawa to get the job done.
“I am in regular contact with my municipal counterparts to that end. The federal government pledged one-third of the $48 million cost for the project.
“We both share the goal of a new bridge to connect south-end communities as soon as possible.”
