Poilievre & Volunteers Raise Funds for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard
BARRHAVEN – On Saturday October 15, 2011, Pierre Poilievre, Member of Parliament for Nepean-Carleton, was at Ross’ Independent Grocer helping out his community.
Mr. Poilievre along with about a dozen of his supporters grilled up hamburgers and hot dogs with all profits going to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
Poilievre said, “Ross’ Independent has graciously granted us the use of their facilities in order to help impact the Barrhaven community in a positive way – without them, none of this would have been possible.”
By the end of the day, the group had raised about three hundred dollars which has now been doubled by an equal contribution on behalf of the Nepean-Carleton Conservative Association.
