I would like to take this time to convey my heartfelt greetings to Canadians observing the Festival of Lights.

Chanukah symbolizes the enduring power of faith in triumphing over adversity.

To commemorate the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, we rekindle the Chanukah candles, one by one, by a single flame.

Doing so will not only make the menorah grow stronger, but also the faith that has sustained the Jewish people.

Canada is, without doubt, a more enriched country thanks to the contributions of many hard-working Jewish Canadians.

On behalf of our Government, and from my family to yours, I wish you a very joyous Chanukah.
